Installation of a plant root heating system
The Green Box Agro heating cable is installed on a reinforcing mesh, any rigid mesh from a hardware store will do, and secured with plastic clamps - cable ties. The distance between the turns is about 15 cm, which corresponds to 100 W/m2. Above the cable is also possible - and very desirable! — put another row of reinforcing mesh to mechanically protect the cable from the shovel.
The temperature sensor is installed between the turns of the cable in the middle between them in a corrugated tube (ordinary plastic corrugation with a diameter of 16 mm). This corrugation protects the sensor from mechanical damage, for example, with a shovel, and also allows, in case of replacement, to simply pull it out and insert a new one without digging up the soil or disturbing the roots of plants.
The temperature regulator TP 600 is a plastic box with a control button, light indication, and rubberized seals for hermetically sealed wire entry.
There are three wires inside the regulator:
- heating cable;
- temperature sensor;
- power supply 220 volts.
The wires are connected with the power off (this is mandatory!) according to the diagram in the instructions:
- on the 1st and 2nd terminals - a sensor;
- on the 3rd and 4th - heating cable;
- on the 5th and 6th - 220 volt power supply (on the 5th - working zero N, on the 6th - phase L);
- The yellow-green PE conductor from the heating section is connected to the PE wire of suitable power through the terminal block, and if there is no ground in the incoming ground, then we connect it to the working zero N (that is, we zero it).
For additional protection, the supply conductor can be connected through an RCD (or differential circuit breaker) with a leakage current of 30 mA.
After all the electrical connections, the system is checked as follows: supply 220 volts to the regulator, turn it on with the button (the “power” LED lights up), and by pressing the same button several times, set the temperature higher than the one currently on the sensor. The heating should turn on, the “heating” LED will light up, and after a few minutes the cable will become warm - you can touch it with your hand and see for yourself!
At this point, the installation and connection of the soil heating system at the roots of the plants is completed, you can fill in the fertile soil and plant the seedlings!

GreenBox AGRO heating cables are used to heat the soil in relatively small greenhouses (2...15 m2 of heated soil area).
Heating is controlled using one button on the TP 600 thermostat; this regulator is manufactured in a dust- and moisture-proof housing with a degree of protection IP 56 and can be installed directly in the greenhouse (at an operating temperature of at least +5 °C).
A temperature sensor is installed in the soil, in the immediate vicinity of the plant roots (in the middle between the turns of the heating cable), and the other end is connected to the thermostat and controls the switching on/off of the heating circuit when the set temperature is reached (from +18 °C to +27 °C) .
The GreenBox ARGO heating cable has a two-core design (one heating conductor and the other current-returning conductor) and one “cold” wire 2 m long for connection to the thermostat, and at the opposite end of the heating cable there is an end sleeve.
The two-core cable design provides:
- ease of connection (the opposite end does not need to be returned to the regulator, where it remained, it remains there);
- protection from harmful electromagnetic radiation (when electric current passes in close proximity in opposite directions, electromagnetic waves meet and mutual cancellation of vibrations occurs).

Calculation of the Green Box Agro soil heating system
The calculation of the Green Box Agro system is quite simple: you find out the heated area of the bed or several beds on which one cable can be laid out without going outside, that is, the heating cable must lie in homogeneous soil.
Heated bed area = length times width.
When measuring the length and width of the bed, you can set aside 5...10 cm from each edge for indentations, since the heating cable is not placed close to the walls.
We multiply the resulting heated area by 100 W/m2 and obtain the estimated required thermal power of the system.

Greenhouse advertising promised an incredible greenhouse for relatively little money. I started looking for information from other sources, but at that time it was nowhere to be found.
