    • Compared to cheaper coating materials, polycarbonate pays for itself very quickly. This transparent plastic is of high quality and durability.

    Reviews about the greenhouse "Slava"

    Despite the variety of greenhouses produced, all products in this segment do not differ much in price and characteristics. Greenhouses of the “Glory” series stand out against the background of other buildings. Numerous reviews from gardeners who have already installed these greenhouses on their plots position Slava greenhouses as very high quality and convenient.

    Buying a polycarbonate greenhouse makes you forget for a long time about repairing the coating and preserving the seedling material. According to user reviews, even during short-term frosts, the temperature in the greenhouse remains at a level that is comfortable for plants.

    The coating, even during sudden frosts down to minus 5 °C, allows the temperature inside the greenhouse to remain at plus 15 °C, which is the ideal temperature for seedlings and plants during the growing season.

    The greenhouse structure does not require dismantling in winter. It has a good degree of resistance to heavy snowfalls and loads from gusts of wind.

    The cellular structure of polycarbonate sheets gives the greenhouse high thermal insulation properties.

    Summer residents who use the Slava greenhouse on their own plot note its effectiveness in their reviews.

    The heat-saving properties of the greenhouse make it an indispensable assistant when growing heat-loving plants and seedlings. Gardeners grow seedlings, tomatoes, peppers and eggplants in such a structure.

    It is successfully used as a room for forcing early harvests of greens and radishes.

    The greenhouse allows you to completely forget about frosts in early spring and helps to grow high-quality and strong seedlings. The price of the Slava greenhouse depends entirely on the length of the structure, but remains affordable compared to similar products.

    Selection criteria when purchasing

    The modern market presents a huge number of greenhouses made from various materials, which often confuses the user.

    When choosing a finished structure, you must be guided by the following criteria:

    1. Determination of intended purpose - greenhouses are installed to meet the needs of a family or to obtain products for commercial purposes. If in the first case you can get by with a small structure, then in the second a capital structure is required, which will require larger financial investments not only at the initial stage, but also during operation.
    2. Choosing a model - greenhouse structures are either stationary or collapsible. With the first option everything will be much simpler, because its installation is carried out once. The second variation will have to be assembled at the beginning of the season and disassembled at the end. If you visit the site only during the season, then it would be more advisable to purchase just such a design.
    3. The height of the structure must be at least 2 m so that the user can move freely inside, manipulate the beds and grow plants with great growth force.
    4. Installation location - to get the maximum benefit from having a greenhouse, you need to choose a place that is not drafty and has the possibility of the most abundant lighting. There may be very few such places on the site, but the size of the greenhouse will depend on them.
    5. The width of the doorway - optimally, this parameter should be at least 1 m, which will ensure the free passage of the wheelbarrow.
    6. Materials - the frame structure must be durable and resistant to corrosion. It is best to consider structures made of galvanized metal in this regard.

    How can you add to the design?

    For those who almost constantly live outside the city, it makes sense to make a number of additional changes with their own hands that will allow sowing in a greenhouse almost all year round. So:

    • First, you should choose the most illuminated place and prepare a pit.
    • Secondly, formwork should be made along the selected perimeter and filled with cement. It should rise above the ground. This will prevent excess moisture from penetrating inside the greenhouse.
    • Thirdly, you need to wait until the foundation is completely dry, which will take about two weeks, and only then install the greenhouse. In addition to concrete, you can use brick or stones.
    • Fourthly, for quick construction, you can also use steel reinforcement and then attach the greenhouse arcs using self-tapping screws.

    Note. Practice shows that these small works allow you to increase the load and there is no need to dismantle the greenhouse in winter.

    "Slava Lux" with opening roof

    The main advantage of the greenhouse is the swinging gable roof. In summer, you can open both doors completely, which will solve all ventilation problems.

    Especially if you use a device for automatic ventilation. Reviews from the owners indicate that in winter it is better to remove the roof of the Slava Lux greenhouse, ensuring the safety of the structure.

    Another plus: you don’t need to throw snow on the ground with a shovel; it covers the ground naturally.

    Assembly technology for a standard arched model

    The manufacturer points out the ease of assembly, which any summer resident without experience can handle. The main thing is to carefully study the instructions with the diagram of each connection.

    What is required for installation

    The manufacturer recommends that before starting work, install a foundation made of timber 150x200 mm thick. It will give the structure additional stability, which is important during strong side gusts of wind. If you live in an area where there are no stormy winds, it is enough to strengthen the structure in the ground using lugs.

    To work you will need:

    • screwdriver or screwdriver;
    • pliers;
    • wrench.

    Assembly sequence

    Installation diagram of frame elements

    The installation of the Slava SP greenhouse is carried out in two stages. First, you should assemble a “draft version” of the structure, slightly tightening the fasteners. Check if everything is correct. Then, thoroughly secure each element:

    • Assembly begins from the ends. To install them, it is necessary to attach the outer end arches and extensions of the end arches with M5x30 screws. The holes for the covering should be on the outside of the building.
    • Attach the side stringers to the ends using gusset fasteners.
    • Place the outer half-arches in place.
    • Add side stringers and middle half-arches. Next is the final row of side stringers and the final arch.
    • Reinforce the base with upper elements.
    • Assemble the doors with vents, install them in the doorways with M4x30 screws.
    • Cover the finished frame with sheets of polymer using self-tapping screws and pressure tapes.
    • Greenhouses of this series have everything necessary for growing seedlings, forcing early greens, and also for producing tasty vegetables all year round.

    Tips and instructions will help you solve the problem of assembling a greenhouse

    Assembling a greenhouse is not very difficult, but it requires attention, accuracy and some skills. A greenhouse, of course, is a simpler structure. Therefore, when assembling a greenhouse, the gardener is unlikely to need additional instructions. And, here, a little instructions for assembling the greenhouse, in any case, will not hurt anyone.

    First stage

    Project preparation

    You must first decide whether a foundation is needed. A greenhouse, for example, does not require a foundation. If it is needed, then what kind - made of timber, brick, slabs or something else. It is better to build a prefabricated greenhouse on a strong but lightweight foundation.

    When marking a foundation or plot of land for a greenhouse, you should use a tape measure to check the diagonals of the rectangular base. They should be equal to each other, this will allow the structure to be more accurately maintained in plan.

    Next, a sketch is made if the greenhouse is non-standard. If you need a greenhouse to grow seedlings, then a sketch is not needed.

    On the selected site, the greenhouses should be located in an east-west direction, which will provide good levels of solar illumination. For the same purposes, it is not recommended to have dense trees and shrubs nearby. A greenhouse that does not have technical heating systems is especially sensitive to these conditions.

    Purchasing the necessary materials and tools

    Prefabricated greenhouses can be either original or created from purchased kits. Polycarbonate structures (hereinafter referred to as PC structures) are available for sale in the form of sets “Triumph”, “Kremlyovskaya”, “Uralochka” and “Dachnaya 2 DUM/Urozhay”.

    The main brands may have modifications, for example, “Kremlyovskaya Lux”, “Urozhay-PK”. Or, "Harvest-Elite". Each kit comes with assembly instructions. You should not ignore this document, paying attention to it only out of boredom, when there is nothing else to read.

    Or read it only after everything is already spoiled, broken and destroyed.

    Materials

    Glass, polyethylene film, wood, steel or aluminum frame are traditional materials used in greenhouse construction. A greenhouse can also be made using these materials.

    But glass is losing its popularity, since it is a fragile material, moreover, its use leads to an increase in the weight of the greenhouse. Modern prefabricated greenhouse options are characterized by the widespread use of polycarbonates, or PC.

    Or acrylic sheets, spunbond fabric.

    When buying a cell sheet PC, you should pay attention to its quality. If the thickness of the material is less than 4 mm, then it will not last long. A standard PC sheet with dimensions of 600 x 210 cm should not weigh less than 10 kg, otherwise it is a lightweight option with reduced quality.

    Tools

    You will need a set of the following tools and auxiliary materials:

  • roulette;
  • shovel;
  • Bulgarian;
  • screwdriver;
  • pliers;
  • scotch;
  • wrench S7 (socket);
  • drill;
  • step ladder;
  • drills (set);
  • square, plumb line, level (optional, but desirable);
  • Of course, instead of a screwdriver, you can use a simple screwdriver; instead of a grinder, you can use a suitable knife for cutting sheathing sheets.

    Second phase

    Frame

    For home-made structures, the best frame option is from a rectangular metal pipe 40 x 20 x 2 mm, although other profiles are not prohibited.

    A grinder, a welding machine or the services of a metal workshop are a cheaper option compared to buying ready-made frames. Although in the latter case a lot of time is saved.

    Using a wooden frame will save both time and money, but it will not last long.

    Sheathing

    Having mounted the frame according to the diagram, you can begin the sheathing.

    PC or acrylic sheets should be attached to the frame with self-tapping screws. In this case, it is recommended to use thermal washers, which seal the fastener holes in the sheathing sheets and improve the appearance of the structure.

    PC sheets are laid sequentially, with an overlap of up to 6 - 8 cm, secured on the outside with galvanized steel tape or aluminum self-adhesive tape. Inside, the connections are reinforced with a special tape through which condensate flows. In addition, this perforated tape prevents dust and drafts from occurring in the greenhouse.

    Heating

    To grow a good harvest in the early stages, heating must be provided in the greenhouse. A greenhouse, as you know, is heated by the rays of the sun from above and the heat of decomposing manure from below.

    A prefabricated greenhouse can be heated in the same way, plus boxes with biofuel or a simple stove.

    More sophisticated options are a ring of reflector heaters or even communications to the heating system of a country house.
