Do-it-yourself assembly of the Orange greenhouse and the main advantages of the model

The domestic market offers a wide range of greenhouses, differing not only in standard sizes, but also in pricing. Each option has its own characteristics, including design ones, offers a number of specific advantages and is capable of effectively solving the assigned problems. Among the huge list of modifications, the Orange greenhouse stands out, representing the optimal combination of price/quality. The material presented will tell you about this model, its advantages and aspects of assembly.

Orange - affordable and reliable polycarbonate construction

Features and characteristics of the model

The greenhouse with the bright and memorable name “Orange” is one of the latest developments by domestic designers and truly has no analogues. The frame is made of galvanized steel pipe with a closed profile, the cross-section of which is 20x30 mm. The picture is complemented by a rolled seam (lock) and an internal arch, due to which the finished structure receives additional rigidity and resistance to various types of influences.

The dimensions of the building are standard: length – 4 m, width – 3 m, height – 2.1 m. The use of special insert modules allows you to significantly increase the length, the main thing is that it is a multiple of two.

When using a greenhouse in winter, it is worth taking care of arranging additional supports, although without them, provided that it is covered with cellular polycarbonate, the product can withstand a 20-centimeter layer of snow.

Weaknesses of a greenhouse

As practice shows, before directly installing a polycarbonate greenhouse, you will need to thoroughly level the area on which the product will be built. Otherwise, the “Orange” elements simply cannot be connected and secured correctly. Often, some parts may have incorrect markings, so you will have to create additional holes yourself. The design lacks sufficient rigidity. The doors of the product are equipped with polycarbonate material, which is quite thin. If there is a gust of wind or snow, it may not withstand the load and become deformed.

Heat plays a fundamental role in a greenhouse. It is the creation of a certain temperature for growing plants that is the main goal of the structure. However, Orange has some disadvantages related to tightness. The gaps created after installing windows and doors are too large. It is through them that cold air currents pass. To securely fasten the polymer film over the entire area, additional fasteners may be required. Thus, a summer resident should stock up not only with tools, but also with a significant number of self-tapping screws.

Model range and features of varieties

The manufacturer offers several modifications, with the following variations of “orange” being the most popular among consumers:

  1. “Pro” – has an improved design and an additional door. The D-like closed-type profile gives the product increased strength and rigidity. The structure is comfortable and easy to install; the elements are fixed using screw connections.
  2. “Reinforced” is a model ideal for use in the most unfavorable conditions from a climatic point of view. Special “crab” clamps further strengthen the joints of the profile, and additional transverse profiles provide excellent resistance to wind and external vibrations.
  3. “K” - this orange greenhouse has maximum strength and durability. The galvanized square profile is additionally painted with a special composition, which eliminates the possibility of corrosion forming on the surface under the influence of moisture. The presence of reinforcing diagonal strips guarantees increased resistance to wind gusts and external influences.

Frame assembly

Is all that glitters gold?

The market is replete with information about the product, which ultimately is nothing more than a simple advertising ploy by manufacturers.

Even reading reviews from “enthusiastic customers” does not help; everything ultimately turns out to be simple advertising and the skill of managers (see Business plan for a greenhouse: recommendations for drawing up) of the sales and sales department.

Today we will try to look at one of these products and find out what is true in its description and what is clearly embellished.

"Golden Orange" - offer

Orange greenhouses appeared on our shelves relatively recently. The juicy name itself evokes rosy and positive feelings, but let’s not delude ourselves and let’s see what the manufacturer offers us?

And he offers us a lot:

  • Increased yield by 200%.;
  • Compact dimensions for transportation, the entire structure can be successfully transported in a passenger car;
  • Quick and easy assembly, within 2 – 3 hours;
  • Possibility of installation on any site;
  • Durability;
  • Convenient swing doors, which are convenient for bringing in equipment and bringing in a garden cart.

"A bountiful harvest"

As we see more than enough advantages, let's take a closer look point by point.

A question immediately arises about yield. They promise us 200%, they just forget to explain why this happens. But let’s not be picky and attribute this to the producer’s desire to always see a rich harvest on our site.

Alarming compactness is one of the advantages

Greenhouse packaging.

Manufacturers were careful about compactness and ease of transportation. Everything is well packaged and each package has a specific number, so it is difficult to mistake which parts are located where.

Super compactness (even a little alarming) gives the feeling that the manufacturer was more concerned not about the quality of operation of this model, but about the possibility of transporting as large quantities of products as possible across the regions.

But let's not be picky, it's really convenient. I loaded it into a car and took the greenhouse to my site. A clear plus.

“Fast and Furious” editing – desire and reality

The most interesting question is assembly. Let's just say the stated 2 - 3 hours is a clear exaggeration.

Having read that a greenhouse can be easily assembled in 2 - 3 hours, the buyer hopes to receive a ready-made greenhouse on his site after this time, as the advertisement tells him.

We declare right away that in 2 – 3 hours you will not receive a greenhouse on the site, even with the most favorable outcome.

What you can get is an assembled greenhouse frame, and even then, after spending at least 8 hours.

Why? Let's try to do this work together.

Assembling a greenhouse - sequence of actions

It is worth noting that the installation of an orange greenhouse is a fairly simple process, which even a person who is not too familiar with the construction industry can handle. All work is carried out sequentially and includes the following stages:

  1. Preparing the site before installation.
  2. Features of frame assembly.
  3. Installation of polycarbonate sheets.

Preparing the site before installation

First of all, a place for the greenhouse is selected. It is recommended to install it away from objects and roof slopes - this way it will receive all the solar energy it requires in full. If necessary, the soil is leveled - sudden changes in the surface are unacceptable, after which they move on to marking - measure the length of the structure and drive in pegs. The same pegs are driven in along the width of the future structure.

The markup must be correct

Perpendicularity is checked using a thread. Recesses are dug along the contour for future supports. Their depth is 25 cm, width is about 20 cm, the distance between the holes is approximately 1 m.

Features of frame assembly

The installation of the orange greenhouse frame begins with fixing the upper end arcs. Special extensions are mounted on the side arches, having previously equipped them with tightening tapes. After this comes the turn of assembling intermediate arches, which are subsequently placed in pre-prepared recesses. Fixing them at this stage is not required. Make sure that the tie strips are facing outwards.

The correct alternation of arcs is important - first the end arc, then the intermediate arc.

If everything is in order and the order is observed, they are secured with ties. Loose arches can “lie down” - there is nothing terrible about that. To connect them together, longitudinal ties with a recess in the middle part are used. The screed is attached as follows: the beginning - on the first arc, the middle and corner - on the second, the end - on the third.

End posts are installed at the front and rear of the greenhouse - each of them has elements with screw holes. It is also necessary to attach two posts to the outer arches, placing them perpendicular to the ground. Next comes the installation of transverse braces and front elements. Finally, the hinges and latches are put in place (the doors and windows are already assembled, you just need to hang them).

Installation of a frame under polycarbonate

Installation of polycarbonate sheets

The top of the orange greenhouse is covered with polycarbonates, the cutting of which is carried out in accordance with the dimensions of the structure. First of all, the front and back sides of the structure are closed, for which self-tapping screws or special retaining plates are used. In the case of self-tapping screws, you should make holes in the polycarbonate with a diameter slightly larger than the cross-section of the fasteners.

Do not allow the material to be compressed when fixing.

To cover the greenhouse, I use sheets 6 m long. Along the central arc, the installation is carried out with an overlap, connecting the sheets using tie tapes. Along the outer arcs, a protrusion of the sheet of approximately 4 cm is recommended. Tension tape is also used to secure all arcs.

To extend the service life of the structure, the joints of the sheets are sealed - for this you can use tape, silica gel or another similar product.

Attaching polycarbonate to the frame

How to install polycarbonate sheets

  • First, a sheet of material is taken and cut into the required elements.
  • Next, the film is removed from them, designed to protect the polycarbonate.
  • The sheets are attached to the greenhouse with self-tapping screws. In this case, it is worth drilling holes in the frame in advance. The self-tapping screw should not be deeply embedded in the polycarbonate, so that cracks do not form in the material in the future.
  • On the central arc, the layers of polycarbonate are overlapped. They are fastened with tie strips.
  • The joints of long and short strips are connected with bolts and nuts.

The main feature is a double door. Having both doors open, it is very convenient to enter the greenhouse with buckets or a garden cart. This is what distinguishes the described type of greenhouse from other similar options

Main advantages of the modification

The Orange greenhouse has a number of undeniable advantages, among which the following should be highlighted:

  • lightness - the weight of the structure in a typical configuration is only 70 kg, which is significantly less than that of analogues with a pipe or V-like profile;
  • compactness – when folded, the set fits into three boxes made of five-layer cardboard;
  • ease of installation - the whole procedure takes several hours and does not require special tools or specialized knowledge;
  • reliability - the presence of 7 types of profiles in the design guarantees the product excellent resistance to wind and mechanical loads;
  • durability - according to the manufacturer, the building is capable of effective use for 10 years or more;
  • efficiency - in this greenhouse, harvesting is possible twice a year, which increases productivity by up to 200%.

Maximum exposure to the sun

A modern orange greenhouse is a design suitable for effective operation in a wide variety of conditions.

Its use can significantly increase the yield of grown crops, and self-assembly will not cause problems even for a completely inexperienced farmer. It is only important to be careful and strictly follow all the advice and tips that were given above.

Delivery

To deliver the Orange to its permanent location, you will need a passenger car with a trunk. Two main boxes, each 215x60x7 cm, and an expansion module 2m, in a box 215x47x7 - in total they weigh 70 kg. That is, the strength of 1-2 people is enough.

When purchasing, carefully check the package contents to ensure that all parts are available. Self-tapping screws with a greenhouse must be special, for metal.

Having purchased the basic Orange set, you can subsequently easily increase its length by adding two-meter expansion modules. Here you can also purchase additional doors and windows.
