About the garden waterer: do-it-yourself water sprinkler for watering

Do-it-yourself garden sprinkler for watering the garden

Modern man, more than ever before, has learned to combine business with pleasure. Enjoying relaxation in nature, being in a certain sense in unity with the origins of life - this is a wonderful aesthetic side of owning a dacha, garden, or adjacent plot. Another, often even more pleasant side of this situation is the opportunity to receive a certain and fairly substantial income. Using the basic rules of agricultural technology correctly, every gardener or gardener at a time determined by nature appears a significant amount of his own, environmentally friendly and completely safe even for children, berries, fruits, and vegetables. The surplus of such high-quality products can always be of interest to adherents of a healthy diet. It is precisely these products that nutritionists, pediatricians and other specialists focus on today. To get a good and abundant harvest, first of all, you need high-quality and technologically correct watering of the garden, which can be obtained through a system with sprinklers.

Various types

The features of any sprayer depend on its type. Let's look at the main types of sprayers and their characteristic features.

Injection

One of the most common types of sprayers can be called injection products.

These sprayers consist of a body and an injector, into which water enters through a special hole, which can have a variety of calibers.

The performance of the entire device depends on the size of the hole.

The main advantage of injection sprayers is the ability to create “low foam” for the most efficient and plant-friendly watering. It consists of thin streams of water saturated with air.

Since there is less air in water than the liquid itself, foam got its name. Other advantages are:

  • maximum spraying efficiency, because the injection sprayer prevents the formation of small droplets that are simply blown away by the wind;
  • drops of “low foam” linger much better on plant leaves than regular liquid;
  • Since the water is saturated with air, its costs are reduced as much as possible. You will be able to water longer from one tank.

As you can see, injection sprayers are excellent for large volumes of work. Therefore, they should be installed on sprayers with large tanks in order to maximize operation without “refueling” with water.

Deflector

If you want to spray fertilizers, then the most effective sprayer option will be a deflector type product. It differs from its analogues in that it creates fairly compact droplets, which escape from the atomizer under high pressure.

This allows you to avoid burning the plant with a large amount of chemicals and, at the same time, high pressure allows the wind to blow away the stream. It is initially formed horizontally, which makes it possible to more confidently control the flow. And this is very important when working with fertilizers, pesticides and other substances.

The deflector sprayer also differs favorably from any other sprayer in that it clogs much less thanks to a well-thought-out hole arrangement system. This way, you can work with chemicals longer without cleaning the sprayer.

The deflector product allows you to work in the most gentle mode for plants, as well as confidently control the wind-resistant stream.

Slotted

Slot sprayers can be called one of the most versatile types of such products, as they allow you to work with both liquids and chemicals. They differ in such characteristic features as:

  • the formation of large-sized droplets, which prevents them from being blown away by the wind;
  • when working with chemicals, they are saturated with air for a more gentle effect on plants, as well as less consumption of the substance;
  • creating a dense stream that is convenient to control, which is important both for working with liquid and for watering;
  • high endurance to any pressure, which makes the sprayer really durable and capable of creating a really dense stream.

Sprinklers for watering the garden

The organization of technologically correct and timely irrigation largely depends on how balanced the approach to the selection of equipment was. This can be either a help to the gardener or significant harm.

When installing irrigation systems, it is best to contact a specialized company, where they will not only select the required kit, but also install it on a turnkey basis for a relatively small fee.

Thus, if you lack skills in work, you will avoid leakage and save such valuable water. Owners of plots who nevertheless decide to carry out the work of watering the land with their own hands often need expert advice on issues that seem insignificant at first glance. This article will tell you how to choose lawn grass for your summer house.

Advantages of sprayers

  • Sprayers allow for systematic, gradual, different levels of saturation of all layers of the soil.
  • When installed at a certain distance from the soil surface, that is, above the growth of plants, they water from above.
  • In the process of using sprinklers, the foliage is saturated, which significantly improves metabolic processes and imitates natural rain.

Sprinklers are simple in design, but practically irreplaceable devices for uniform watering. In most cases, they are a piece of perforated flat hose connected to a common system.

Why do vacuum cleaners need reverse draft - the answer to the secret!

Many owners of vintage “Rocket” type vacuum cleaners for the most part have no idea why such units have the ability to switch the motor not only for air suction, but also for blowing. You will no longer find such a function in modern units, so why was this done in Soviet products? In fact, if by some miracle the box with components has been preserved, you may well be able to find a ready-made nozzle for a spray gun among them! If it is lost in the years, it will not be difficult to make a spray gun with your own hands from a vacuum cleaner.

For the device to operate successfully, one condition must be met - constant pressure. For this, a receiver is used - don’t be afraid of this word, it could very well be an ordinary soccer ball or a car wheel. A pressure reducing valve will help you control the throughput of the unit. Otherwise, the design repeats the previous version!

Having built a housing into which you can screw a paint tank, set up a vacuum cleaner and made a receiver, all that remains is to tightly connect all the parts. Tightness is the main condition, because only if it is observed will it be possible to achieve constant pressure. So you have an excellent spray gun for whitewashing! You can check the work using water-based paint or lime milk on a simple object. For example, try whitewashing trees!

How are water sprayers used?

Having studied numerous proposals from specialized companies for design, installation and turnkey installation, the owner of the site can determine with a reasonable degree of confidence which moisture supply system will suit him best.

  1. The best way to supply moisture in greenhouse conditions is to use drip-type spraying. Here the sprinkler is of the most basic nature - simple holes in the hose that you can even make yourself.
  2. The spray type is similar to a traditional garden watering can. Such designs are the most suitable option for an open garden, where hard crust on the soil is contraindicated for the beds.
  3. For lawns, especially if they occupy large areas, a sprayer using an electric motor drive is becoming a popular option. These are usually industrial parts that require good fit.

The assortment is large, but it is best to make your choice based on the advice of a specialist or installation by specialists from companies that have the appropriate permits.

There is no need to mention the truism that any plant requires moisture. Especially popular today are green areas and irrigated parks in cities, large areas near country cottages require systematic care and watering in strict accordance with agronomic technology. Too much water can lead to waterlogging, while too little water can lead to drying out. Today it is very important to decide on the choice of sprinklers and sprinklers, which represent the direct working part of the entire complex system. The range of this equipment is represented by five types of designs.

  1. Manual watering of small areas is perfectly accomplished using watering guns. They are produced by almost all manufacturers of garden tools.
  2. Irrigation of a rectangular or square lawn is most effective by using a pendulum or oscillating sprinkler. The range includes models for manual use and partially mechanized ones.
  3. Sprinkler systems with a rotating effect are very popular. This is a large product line of static or fan sprinklers. They are distinguished by the possibility of stationary installation by digging into the soil; some models have a special bayonet design.
  4. To fully saturate a certain area of a meadow or lawn with moisture, the best option is to install rotary sprinklers. They are in many ways similar to static ones, but their priority is that they cover water supply areas with perimeters of complex shape.
  5. An even more convenient design is the pulse sprinkler - sprinkler. The effect of operation is that it has only one hole for the jet to exit. Through it, over equal periods of time, a ratchet mechanism pushes out a certain amount of life-giving moisture.

The beauty, freshness and aesthetics of the green covering of your lawn, flower bed or meadow depends on how correctly the sprinkler model is selected. For beginners in this fascinating business, it is best to get advice from a professional. This will allow you to get maximum effect and save money. Garden sprayer

A spray gun, the second name of which is a sprayer, is a specialized technique designed for spraying any type of liquid on any surface. During spraying, the liquid becomes small drops, which makes it possible to obtain the most uniform application of liquid mixtures to any surface. In addition to liquids, the sprayer is suitable for spraying various powder mixtures and suspensions. Such a sprayer, which is now actively used at home, as well as in agriculture, can be bought at any store. The range of such equipment is quite wide.

Paint sprayers

Types of sprayers

Let's consider the main types of such a device as a spray gun:

  • A spray bottle with a bulb for perfumes such as perfumes, eau de toilette, deodorant and other products. You can even make such pear sprayers yourself. Until today, in many hairdressing salons, perfume is applied using a device such as a small spray bottle or bottle with a “pear”.
  • Medical-grade nebulizers, which are used as sprays for spraying special preparations and medicines.
  • Spraying equipment, which has a special nozzle, is used in painting and painting works, as well as in other areas of human activity for applying varnish, paint, ink and ink. By forming uniform thin layers, a manual type of spray gun, which you can make with your own hands, is quite often used in airbrushing for cars. They are usually called a spray gun - this is an electric spray gun. Such electric spray guns are often used to apply paint to any surface.
  • Garden sprayer for rural work, which is also called a sprayer. It is quite often used to spray soil and flowers. In addition to ordinary water, pesticides or fertilizer solutions are mainly used as a liquid.

The sprayer also comes in:

Automatic models of such devices also include an electric version, which can be used on a full-fledged line, in flow series of production, if there are huge volumes of the same type of product. Such a sprayer, together with a compressor, makes it possible to comply with rather increased requirements that are put forward for the surface to be painted.

A hand sprayer is characterized by reduced efficiency. Only a hand sprayer will allow you to apply paint and varnish mixtures to difficult surfaces that have complex shapes. The manual type is mainly used in small-scale production and where it is necessary to constantly change shades of colors. This manual option is useful in gardening work. In addition, the manual sprayer is very convenient. It can be used on small surfaces, but for larger ones it is better to use the automatic option.

Homemade sprayer

Let's look at how to make a spray bottle with your own hands. Such a garden unit is indispensable in any household where there is a garden plot with vegetables and flowers. This homemade sprayer is a very useful device in the household. What can this sprayer be used for? A homemade spray bottle for flowers is simply an irreplaceable tool - you can water plants, wash glass, clean walls or other surfaces.

Today, you can also purchase a ready-made garden sprayer at any store, however, in order not to waste money, you can make it yourself from scrap materials. You've probably noticed more than once how gardeners hold spray bottles in their hands and spray their plants - trees, shrubs and flowers.

Manufacturers and prices

It is best to formulate criteria for selecting sprinklers, as well as the entire irrigation system, after consultation with professional land reclamation experts. For those gardeners and vegetable gardeners who do not have sufficient experience in deciding on the design direction of an irrigation system, professionals can recommend certain preference criteria:

  • Varieties of watering guns are produced by almost all domestic and foreign firms and companies specializing in garden reclamation equipment, price range from $2 to $20.
  • Pendulum type dividers in the price category ranging from $10 to $120, which depends on quality indicators. The most popular companies are Intertool, Hozelock, Karcher and Gardena from Germany.
  • The best-quality fan-type sprinklers are produced by Karcher and Gardena, the American concerns Hunter and Rain Bird, with prices ranging from $8 to $60.
  • The impulse-type assortment line is offered by the same companies in a price range of at least $10 to the most expensive at $200 per piece.

2 The use of water sprayers in firefighting

In automatic fire extinguishing systems, the extinguishing agent is often water. Two types of water installations are used:

  • sprinklers, used to extinguish local fires, turn on automatically;
  • deluge type, used to extinguish large fire areas, activated by the operator.

Sprinkler systems operate when the temperature slightly exceeds the established norm. The water supply pump through the pipeline starts. A spray of water spreads near the fire.

Firefighting with a water cannon

Deluge systems are activated directly in the event of a fire. Water is supplied to the pipeline under high pressure. By spraying water with droplets larger than in the first case, a water curtain is created.

A modern method of extinguishing fires is a fire extinguishing system with finely sprayed water. The water jet under the influence of low pressure is split and transformed into a fine water mist. This explains the effectiveness of this method. Water consumption in this option is minimal.

2.1 Application of sprayers in agriculture

Mainly in agricultural production, sprayers are used that operate due to the pressure of the working fluid. The nozzle channel of the sprayer narrows and the liquid accelerates in it. At the outlet of the spray channel, the pressure decreases. The liquid disperses in the direction determined by the shape of the nozzle. The spraying process itself is as follows:

  • initial formation of a smooth film;
  • the film loses stability and becomes wavy when exposed to air;
  • disintegration of the film onto the thread;
  • disintegration of threads into drops of different sizes;
  • formation of a torch of sprayed liquid from droplets.

In accordance with the agricultural operation being performed and local conditions, the following basic forms of spray patterns are used:

The desired spray pattern is achieved by installing appropriate nozzles, which come in different types, into the atomizer.

Watering the garden with water sprayers

Such sprinklers are used to water and treat plants with various chemicals.

2.2 Using spray devices at home

Every household uses water taps and shower heads. If you install a special aeration spray nozzle on the faucet, you can achieve significant savings in water consumption. Regardless of the pressure of 6 or 10 l/min, installing an aerator will save up to 60% of water. High efficiency is achieved by applying a minimum amount of water to the maximum surface area.

Using an economical shower head that operates on the turbo effect principle (splitting a water jet into a small droplet composition) will save up to 55% of water.

Water spraying is used to humidify rooms in hot weather. Two types of humidifiers are used:

  • with disc sprayers and nozzles;
  • with spray nozzles.

In both cases, water is sprayed into an aerosol. Thermal energy from the surrounding air turns the water droplets into a gas state. This spray has an adiabatic (cooling) effect on the room temperature. The humidification unit consumes a minimum of electricity.

To wash your car, spray units such as Karcher and others are also often used. The operating principle is based on creating high pressure in the working tank, as in a garden sprayer. At the same time, for the convenience of directing the jet and adjusting the flow power, a spray gun is used. Washing machines of this design are energy- and water-saving.

Spray painting walls

A spray bottle is very common in everyday life. They are equipped with bottles of toilet waters, perfumes, deodorants, air fresheners and other perfumery products. They cannot do without them when packaging household chemical products. Cans of household insect repellents, glass and grease cleaners are also equipped with spray nozzles.

Medical inhalation drugs are used in the form of sprays. Here, too, you can’t do without a sprayer. In medical institutions, by spraying special solutions, work surfaces are disinfected and the premises are completely disinfected.

Various spray nozzles are used when performing painting work during repairs, and during paint and varnish treatment of car bodies.

Hairdressers and cosmetologists use spray bottles in their field to moisturize their hair and face.

Having considered only individual examples of the use of sprayers, the conclusion is obvious - these devices have widely become part of human life.

A sprinkler irrigation system for a garden plot is in many cases more convenient than traditional watering by hand with a hose. Especially if you make the layout of its pipeline network taking into account the planting zones of various crops, the layout of paths, flower beds and lawns, and also provide for the possibility of quickly changing the scheme, sequence and time of watering. Using ground distribution with plastic or metal-plastic pipes 016×2mm, the joining of which is made using push-in adapters with rubber seals, you can quite simply solve the problem of “flexibility” of the pipeline network and easily adapt it to the planting scheme in any area.

For such an irrigation system to work truly effectively, you will need homemade water atomization nozzles that provide a fine spray of water in an area covering up to 360°. Its vertical stand is made of 1/2″ (Dy=15) steel pipe, but plastic pipes of the appropriate diameter can be used with equal success. A through hole of 06 mm was drilled 60 mm from the upper end of the pipe, into which a brass rod 3 was pressed so that the hole with an M4 thread in the rod was located exactly along the longitudinal axis of the pipe. A brass rod is screwed into this threaded hole, onto which a cone made of getinax or textolite is loosely placed. A spring presses the cone to the end of the pipe. The clamping force is adjusted with a nut.

The water pressure in the irrigation system for normal operation of this sprayer should be 3-3.5 atm.

If necessary, the height and diameter of the water “umbrella” that this sprayer provides can be changed by choosing a different angle at the apex of the cone - from 30° to 180°. With the latter value, the cone degenerates into a washer. High-quality water spraying is achieved by adjusting the pressing force of the cone to the end of the pipe.

You can also make nozzles for spraying water in a directional manner with a coverage area of less than 360°. The sampling depth on the cone generatrix should be 0.2-1.0 mm. Such a cone is installed on a rod without a spring, pressing it to the end of the pipe with a nut. To obtain a fine spray of water, the cut plane of the pipe end must be strictly perpendicular to the central axis of the pipe.

Any amateur gardener, growing vegetables or berries in his garden, is faced with the need for additional irrigation of the plants. In the summer heat, proper watering is especially important for the growth and ripening of various crops. High-quality watering does not damage plants and provides timely moisture to both the soil at the roots and the stems and leaves of plants.

The use of a variety of water sprays and sprinklers allows you to maintain the integrity of the soil and not harm crop plants. Water sprinklers are actively used by summer residents when watering small gardens, by farmers in the fields, and by large agricultural enterprises (the latter use large industrial fan sprayers). a small sprinkler for watering your garden plot with your own hands.

How to make it yourself

Despite the huge abundance of sprinkler options offered, many gardeners prefer to independently manufacture this structural fragment of mini reclamation systems. This is a completely uncomplicated system, which is easy to put together, having the following parts:

  • Metal posts with a height of 0.50 to 0.80 m.
  • Hammer for drilling holes.
  • Long plastic hose, handles.
  • Polyethylene bottles for mineral water or drinks.

The video shows how to make a sprinkler for watering your garden with your own hands.

The pipe makes an excellent post for securing a hose, creating a flexible watering system. Insulating tape or durable technical tape is used as fastening. Find out when to sow lawn grass in spring or fall using this link.

Simple banal drilling of holes in a certain plane allows you to create an excellent sprinkler, cheap and reliable. Such a system can last a very long time if all technological parameters are observed.

Under the most favorable conditions and certain skills in creating reclamation systems, even a beginner can build irrigation in his own garden. In order for everything to be done efficiently and soundly, it is better not only to resort to the services of professionals from firms or companies that have permits to carry out similar work. Follow the link to read how to use plastic pipes for irrigation in your dacha.

Peculiarities

It is often believed that a watering device is just an everyday tool. However, this opinion is held mainly by people far from farming. Any gardener knows very well that even such a utilitarian device has more than just functional significance. You need to think about how the design fits into the design of the surrounding area or apartment.

Making your own watering tool will not only save money, but also satisfy aesthetic needs.

Irrigation

Water is supplied to the plants constantly, in small portions.

  1. To supply water in the garden (in the garden, on the lawn, in the flower garden), a pipeline is placed.
  2. Layers are made for each bed. This design is called a distribution line.
  3. Special sprayers are installed next to the plants. The system supplies water in certain portions or continuously for several hours.

The spray irrigation system has clear advantages:

  • Such a do-it-yourself system will be inexpensive. You can use material that we usually simply throw away (for example, plastic bottles).
  • Water moisturizes the leaves and stems of plants, which has a beneficial effect on their condition.
  • The air above the soil is moistened, which is very important in the heat.
  • Water comes in small batches constantly. Therefore, regardless of the duration of your absence from the site, the ground will be moistened.

You can make several types of sprayer for watering your garden yourself:

  • From a plastic bottle.
  • From plastic hoses.
  • A solid system with elements of industrial production.

Drip tapes

Another type of irrigation system is tape. They are significantly cheaper than pipes equipped with droppers and do not require manual adjustment. Such designs are ideal for plantings of the same type: potato beds, berry fields, tomato plantations.

The essence of the system is simple - watering is carried out using thin polyethylene hoses with holes through which water flows. The quality of watering and the service life of the structure depend on the thickness of the plastic walls. The best option is tape with walls of 0.2 mm. It is suitable for any planting, is guaranteed to last for several seasons, and does not suffer from random stones, rodents and pests. Ribbons with walls from 0.12 to 0.15 can be used for watering summer plants growing on soft soils. Usually such a system is changed after a couple of years.

Drip tapes are divided into several groups:

  • slotted;
  • labyrinthine;

Slotted belts are equipped with an internal labyrinth mechanism that reduces water pressure and speed. The disadvantage of such systems is the need for careful filtration of water; small debris will quickly damage the tape. To ensure that the design works smoothly, you can purchase an additional filter and replace it in a timely manner.

Which drip irrigation system do you choose?

Hose Tape

Labyrinth systems have a relief on the surface, it reduces the rate of water supply, promotes its uniform distribution and heating. This design is cheaper than others, but the embossed tapes are easily damaged. To ensure that moisture reaches the roots, when laying the system you need to monitor the location of the drip zone.

Emitter strips are the most convenient and modern option, suitable for any landing. Flat droppers are built into the holes of the tape, creating turbulence in the incoming water. This reduces the likelihood of blockages; the system cleans itself during operation. There are compensated and uncompensated options on sale, the former are intended for areas with difficult terrain, the latter are best used in greenhouses.

When choosing emitter tapes, you need to evaluate the throughput of the droppers. A universal option – flow rate from 1 to 1.5 liters per hour. This mode is suitable for most crops and different types of soil.

Among the best tape drip systems, buyers note the following:

MasterProf Droplet

An inexpensive slot-type belt system, suitable for open ground and greenhouses, provides watering for 4 beds up to 10 m long. Water is supplied from a container installed above ground level. The kit includes a drain hose, adapter, polyethylene tapes, taps, fasteners and plugs.

Smart Drop Standard

Emitter drip system for universal use. Suitable for connecting to a water supply through a regular garden hose, it provides high-quality watering of plants in open ground and greenhouses. The set contains 60 m of polyethylene tape, fittings, tee plugs and a tap for the main hose. The kit is designed for 300 plants; there is no need to purchase additional parts.

Aqua Plus

Slotted drip tape, suitable for greenhouses and open ground of any type, from sand to black soil. Can be used for watering vegetables, flower beds, berry plantations, garden trees and shrubs. Sold in coils up to 2300 m long, which makes it possible to design a system ideal for a specific site. The pitch of the holes is from 20 cm, the water throughput is up to 1 liter per hour. The kit does not include taps, plugs and filters; they will have to be purchased separately.

When choosing a drip irrigation system, you need to take into account the characteristics of the crops being grown, the availability of water supply, and the quality of water. Beginning gardeners can purchase the simplest basic set and gradually improve it by purchasing the missing parts.

Watering with plastic bottles

One of the simplest is a sprayer for watering a garden from a plastic bottle. The most suitable bottle volume is 2-2.5 liters. The bottle must be rinsed well. Then make holes along its surface on one side (with a heated knitting needle or nail).

You can also use regular plastic handles. Measure the diameter of the handle at the thinnest part and drill slightly smaller holes in the bottle. It would be optimal to make 5 holes in three rows. Then cut the handles to a length of 5 cm and insert tightly into the holes.

An adapter is used to connect the hose to the bottle. Drill a hole on the cover to the diameter of the adapter. Using silicone glue, secure the adapter in the lid. Place the bottle next to plants that need watering. Thus, for a vegetable garden you will need several such structures.

Positive aspects of automatic watering in the country

Despite some disadvantages, we are still very pleased that we installed a drip irrigation system in our dacha. It has undeniable advantages:

  • significant time savings;
  • facilitating physical labor;
  • the ability to safely grow most garden crops, coming to the dacha only on weekends, even during the driest period;
  • moisture goes directly to the roots of plants, thanks to which we do not waste water on accidentally watering paths and other nearby areas, allowing the weeds growing there to flourish;
  • Due to the fact that the soil is saturated with water very slowly, a crust does not form on its surface.

Hose system

You will need to purchase the necessary components:

  • Hoses for creating highways along the entire length of the beds.
  • Special sprayers.
  • Shut-off and connecting fittings: plugs, taps, tees.
  • Water container.
  • Stand for water container.
  1. We distribute the hoses along the beds and rows with plants. We put a cap at the end of each one.
  2. Using tees, we connect the hoses to the supply line pipeline, which is connected to the water tank.
  3. The water tank itself must be installed at a height of at least 2 meters above the soil level (to create the required pressure). We use dark colored hoses. This will prevent algae from clogging the drippers.
  4. Along the entire length of the pipes and hoses we mark places for holes that can be made with a hot awl or self-tapping screw. We insert spray nozzles into these holes.

We made our own watering sprayer.

GARDENA 1373-20

A classic version of a drip irrigation system for a greenhouse, which includes a hose and drippers. The set is designed for 40 plants and an area of up to 24 m², which corresponds to a very spacious greenhouse (for example, 3x8 m).

During installation, a 25 m long supply hose is laid, secured with pegs, and droppers are placed next to the plants. At the beginning of the season, instead of drippers, you can connect micro-spray nozzles (they are included) to water the seedlings.

Water is drawn through a main hose from a water supply or pump, but its length is only 5 m - an extension cord may be needed.

The Gardena 1373-20 system operates at a pressure of 1.5 bar

The basic kit does not include a controller for adjusting irrigation, since the system is turned on manually. But you can install the controller separately if you want to automate the system.

Thorough irrigation system

An automatic watering system can be installed on the site. Stores sell a variety of components and components, making it easy to assemble the system with your own hands. When planning automatic watering, it is necessary to take into account the requirements of the plants. For some, sprinkling is suitable, for others - moistening only the roots.

The system requires:

  • Special sprayers (micro-sprinklers). It is more convenient to use adjustable heads; there are also more complex elements - with foggers (convenient for greenhouses).
  • A pipe distributing water to the beds. One end of the pipe is connected to the water supply main. A plug is put on the other end.
  • Start connectors with a clamping nut for connecting pipes and protecting against water leaks.
  • Fittings, shut-off valves, pressure compensators, tees, etc.
  • To ensure long-term operation of the system, a high-quality filter can be installed at the outlet of the tank.

Before assembling a sprayer for watering your garden with your own hands, it is recommended to draw a diagram of the location of the system elements on the site, accurately calculate the watering time and water dosage. This will make installation work easier.

Using factory injectors

By spending a little money on a sprinkler for watering, you can assemble a more complex system for spraying water over a large area. To water lawns with an area of 5 to 25 square meters, rotary sprayers are used that supply chaotically rotating jets of water. Fan sprayers spray water out in a stream.
When connecting a factory nozzle with a homemade water supply device, the spray will be of better quality and timely.

Inexpensive, but very reliable device with a container made of high-strength plastic. It has an adjustable brass nozzle with a filter and an ergonomic handle with a lock. Sold in a bag with a pendant. Lightweight, chemical-resistant sprayer with an adjustable plastic nozzle that can be rotated to cover hard-to-reach areas. It is equipped with a fairly powerful pump that builds up optimal pressure in a couple of strokes. Reliable pump sprayer with a relatively wide neck for easy pouring and draining of liquid. As standard, it has an adjustable nozzle and a locking button. Professional sprayer made of durable, chemical-resistant plastic. Designed for long-term use and has a serious margin of safety. Does not have a lock. The most expensive indoor plant sprayer on the market. Made of durable plastic and has a reliable design. Adjustable plastic nozzle, filter, locking button, wide neck and high-quality pump. There is a safety valve to relieve pressure. It may last a little longer than others, but the price tag is several times higher. Here the decision is up to the buyer.

Watering the lawn

A very good option is the use of polypropylene pipes with final water spraying devices. A sprayer for watering a lawn can be made like this.

When cultivating the area under the lawn, we install a pipe structure so that the water sprinklers cover the entire area. The spray diameter depends on the water supply pressure and the design of the sprinkler. Then, at a depth of 40-50 cm, we bury the prepared system. The spray tips are brought to the surface and tied with polyethylene to prevent soil from getting inside the pipes.

KARCHER 2.645-238.0

Karcher Drip Irrigation Kit 2.645-238.0 is a basic kit consisting of a 15 m long water supply hose, a 10 m drip hose and 10 drippers. It is designed for a small number of plants: for example, a hedge, a flower bed or several bushes.

To cover a larger area, you will have to buy additional hoses and droppers. Instead of the latter, you can install nozzles for spraying water to provide overhead watering.

The maximum pressure
in the Karcher 2.645-238.0 system is 4 bar - the same as in a city water supply.
Conveniently, when installing the system, you only need scissors to cut the water supply hose. It is secured to the ground with plastic pegs, droppers or nozzles are installed at the incision sites, and the oozing hose is laid in its designated place. The entire system can be disassembled and moved if constant watering becomes necessary in another area of the garden.

This model belongs to the oscillating category. Thus, it is usually used to irrigate rectangular areas, the length of which does not exceed 30 m. A Karcher sprinkler of this type is capable of irrigating an area whose area ranges from 190 to 320 m².

Sprinklers from the German company Karcher are equipped with a system for adjusting water flow.

On a note! As an alternative to this device, you can purchase a Palisad 65482 or 65483 sprinkler, the watering area of which is 250 and 280 m².

Such equipment is made of high-quality polymer material. The plastic case is corrosion resistant and resistant to mechanical stress (impact). Separately, it is worth mentioning that this device provides a system for regulating the liquid pressure and the ability to turn off the irrigation sections.

Another advantage of this model is that it makes virtually no noise during operation. Many users note that this sprinkler has a splash protection function. This is an important advantage.

What do you need for a homemade accessory?

But sometimes it happens that if you find a sprayer that is truly optimal for you, with the necessary distribution of water flow, as well as a suitable arrangement of holes, it is quite possible to make such an accessory yourself . To do this you will need the following materials:

  • a nozzle for a shower lever with holes or just a plastic disk of sufficiently high strength;
  • reliable glue “Moment”;
  • tube made of plastic or metal;
  • Lighter;
  • needle or awl, depending on the size of holes you require.

The materials are very common and can be found in almost any home, without even going to the store. Therefore, making a sprayer with your own hands is quite accessible to everyone.
