The “Farmer” greenhouse is designed and manufactured in accordance with SNiP 2.10.04-85 and is intended for industrial cultivation of crops on farms. Its scope of application is not limited only to agriculture: the greenhouse can be used as a warehouse, garage, industrial premises, pool cover and much more. It is possible to grow crops in such a greenhouse all year round, providing the industrial greenhouse “Farmer” with heating. For this purpose, the design provides for the possibility of using modern thermal insulation materials, which will significantly reduce heating costs. The polycarbonate greenhouse “Farmer-7.5” (7.5 m wide) can be equipped with a vestibule, which will serve as additional heat retention in the greenhouse during the cold season.
Thanks to low prices, a novice farmer will be able to open, and an experienced one will be able to continue to develop his business.
The greenhouse frame is made of a special galvanized profile, has an arched shape, and consists of arc-shaped trusses connected by purlins and end structures. The width of the greenhouses is 4.2 m; 4.5 m; 5 m or 7.5 m, height - from 3 to 4 m. The length of the greenhouse can be any multiple of 2.1 m. The minimum length is 4.2 m. The area of the covered soil depends on the length of the greenhouse. The largest dimensions of the frame parts do not exceed 3.1 meters.
The frame of an industrial greenhouse is assembled using bolts and nuts. The covering is secured to the end walls using corner brackets. The top is fastened using special “polyclip” fastening profiles. The recommended thickness of the cellular polycarbonate coating is 6 mm, and you can also use 8 mm, 10 mm.
The greenhouse can be installed on a foundation or on the ground with buried foundation posts. The standard package includes swing gates and a door on both sides. At the request of the customer, it is possible to manufacture a vestibule (“Farmer - 7.5”). At the customer's request, side windows for ventilation are installed with a manual or electric automated drive.
The customer can independently install electric fans for forced ventilation in the upper part of the end walls. Forced ventilation can provide any required volume of air exchange.

Types of films
Modern technologies do not stand still. Many farmers have already appreciated the benefits of new types of film. This material is quite durable and, in addition, it has the necessary transparency. Manufacturers currently offer a wide range of films for greenhouses, including:
- polyethylene;
- PVC;
- reinforced film;
Each of these types has a number of advantages and some disadvantages.
Polyethylene material
Polyethylene has long been actively used by gardeners to create greenhouses. The reason for such long-term popularity is its low price and light weight. The material has a thickness from 15 to 300 microns. For greenhouses, the optimal thickness is 150–200 microns. In this case, with a relatively good resistance of the film to weather conditions, a sufficient amount of light passes through it. But this material also comes with many disadvantages:
- plastic film can withstand no more than one season;
- subject to stretching and sagging;
- the material has low hydrophilicity, this causes the formation of water droplets that are harmful to plants;
- due to the accumulation of electrostatic charge, dust is attracted, which over time reduces the transparency of the film;
- transmits ultraviolet radiation up to 80%.
PVC covering
Essentially, PVC products are at a different level of strength. The main advantage of PVC material is its high thermal insulation properties. This quality is especially valued when growing eggplants and peppers.
The disadvantages of PVC film include:
- higher price;
- low transmittance of ultraviolet rays (20%), which is not suitable for some types of crops;
- the ability to accumulate a static charge, which attracts dust, which leads to rapid contamination of the film;
- the material requires regular tightening.
Reinforced film
The reinforced film is characterized by high strength and light transmittance of 70%. In addition, this film can withstand a fairly wide temperature range, which makes it suitable for all climate zones.
The material can last from 3 to 6 years. The disadvantages include its higher cost.
Stable hydrophilic
In addition to these materials, a stable hydrophilic film is available on the market. Advantages of this product :
- resistance to light rays;
- no condensation on the surface;
- antistatic additives prevent the rapid accumulation of dust;
- low thermal conductivity.
All this helps to increase the productivity of cultivated plants. The thickness of the product ranges from 80 to 150 microns . Warranty up to 3 years.

With frame made from plasterboard profile
The greenhouse is installed on a strip foundation. The metal profile for fastening plasterboard sheets is lightweight and durable. It's easy and simple to work with. The disadvantage of such a frame is that the structure may not withstand a thick layer of snow.
For construction you will need:
- rack profile 50x50 mm;
- guide profile 50x40 mm.
All horizontal elements are made with a guide profile and fastened with self-tapping screws or riveting. 4.2x16 mm self-tapping screws with a flat head are best suited.
Required:
- electric screwdriver;
- metal scissors;
- roulette and level.
Assembly of the structure:
- Cut the profile to the required length and assemble the first link.
- Install on the foundation, check verticality.
- The remaining links are assembled and installed.
- Tied around the perimeter.
- Install end elements with door and window openings.
- The structure is covered with film or cellular polycarbonate.

Covering material
The following are used as covering materials:
- cellular polycarbonate;
- glass;
- polyethylene film.
Cellular polycarbonate
Currently, the most popular covering material is cellular polycarbonate . It is easy to install, is reliable during operation, and is not destroyed by accidental sharp impacts. This material will not be broken even by strong hail.
Foreign industry produces cellular polycarbonate of various thicknesses (from 3.2 to 25 mm) and structure. For small winter professional polycarbonate greenhouses, material with a thickness of 3.2 to 6 mm is used. Transparent polycarbonate is usually used for greenhouse buildings and greenhouses. The light transmission coefficient depends on the thickness of the sheet and ranges from 62% to 83% .
Glass
The light transmittance of glass is high ( 88-92% for glass of various thicknesses). Greenhouse structures can be glazed with both window and greenhouse glass, which is much stronger. Dutch industrial glass greenhouses are covered with a special type of float . This glass is cast into ready-made molds, which increases its strength.
Polyethylene film
Film industrial greenhouses have been used for a long time, but this material has a number of disadvantages. The film is difficult to secure without damaging it. Winds stretch the film, it begins to inflate and tear, which is why it has to be replaced. Arched farm greenhouses under film, which are located in areas of strong winds, have to be closed annually .

Industrial greenhouse: features
Industrial greenhouses differ from ordinary greenhouses in their large size; they use heating systems, which allows them to obtain several harvests per year. Greenhouse buildings occupy a significant area and, as a rule, have a large height.
Such structures can be multi-tiered and multi-story. For the conditions of the Far North, greenhouse buildings are built with walls made of permanent building materials, in which only artificial lighting is used.
